New Releases, 20 July 2010

We've been busy this week at 9th St Video, busy scaling the HEIGHTS OF FAME AND FORTUNE. Publicity is our middle name, and if you didn't see the stories about us in the papers you should definitely check them out (here and there). Oh yeah, we rent movies too. Here are some new ones for Tuesday.

THE RUNAWAYS
Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning star as rockers Joan Jett and somebody else in this psuedo-biopic.

COP OUT
Cop spoof starring a lot of funny people, and Bruce Willis

THE MOTHER
From Ragtag, a thrilling murder mystery from the director of THE HOST, a fantastic film that we have in our vast movie reservoir. See both and talk about them to everyone you meet!

A TOWN CALLED PANIC
A wacky and hilarious stop-motion film, released by the studio that brought us WALLACE AND GROMIT. (Which we also have, vast reservoir, bla bla bla) "There's really very little to say about this film beyond that it's absolutely brilliant." --The following reviewer, whoever that is

ULTIMATE HEIST
Hollywood is going to be upset that they can't make any more heist films. (NOTE--the still above is not from ULTIMATE HEIST, but Jean Reno probably does this at some point during the film.)
IMDb Page (couldn't find much else)

THE LOSERS
Zoe Saldana, whom you've probably seen blue and in three dimensions, stars in this special-ops-caper-in-Bolivia flick

THE RED SHOES
Powell and Pressberger's 1948 classic, now in a fine new Criterion edition.

So come on by and pick up some of these and other fine films that literally cascade from our walls. Have a great week!
